I can’t think of a title, but here goes.

Good evening everyone! How are you all doing? You may have noticed the site has changed a little since I last posted back in June; The Lonely Tree is the new title for my blog and I've decided (as to ensure I keep up with writing), that instead of just writing about politics, philosophy etc. that I would go back to my roots as seen on Pointless Ramblings and also include some more personal posts. The first of which I'm about to start now. So here I am, sat at my new desk, in my new room at my Continue reading [...]

Where I was, two years ago.

For those of you who don't know, today marks the second anniversary of Michael Jackson's death. On MJJC, an international fan community website, there is a forum discussion talking about where we all were when we heard that Michael has passed. I just thought I'd share my response with you.     I remember I was up late anyway, I was on MJJC and I saw the thread that was discussing a sighting of an ambulance entering and leaving Michael's home - we all thought it was one of his staff. A beginner’s guide to theology.

Well, first off might I start by bidding you a good evening (or good night if you want to be pedantic), or indeed good morning if you've already changed your clocks. Clegg in action – And by gosh did he make a good impression.

Wow! A political rambling?! It's about bloody time. I know, I've been very lapse of late and I think this is probably the first proper ramble I've had since the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death. My political fire has reignited and it's mostly thanks to the memoirs of ex-Business Secretary Lord Mandelson; reading The Third Man: Life at the Heart of New Labour has really spurred me on to get back into following British Politics. And what a day to rediscover my political passion. With Prime Continue reading [...]

The government, the recession and the miserable bastards who complain about them both

I'm sorry, but I feel well within my rights to have a bit of a bloody rant here. I'm sat watching the local news for Yorkshire and listening to countless people complaining about the cuts that have to be made within the council; it's down to a 'bloody Conservative government' says my mother - hang on a second, let me please tell you what is wrong with that. Firstly, this would've happened next year under a Labour government, it's just that Cameron felt it better to reduce the deficit now rather Continue reading [...]
